With next-gen consoles imminent, you won’t be left in the dust with these cool gaming accessories that are sure to take your play to the next level.
Console gaming is about to get a massive upgrade this coming November as the highly awaited PS5 and Xbox Series X are being released in the next few weeks.
It’s an exciting time for all console fans, signaling the start of a new generation and no doubt we’ll see the console wars spark up yet again, but that’s all part of the new era!

Regardless of which console you wish to purchase, it’s time to pimp your gaming setup and get ready for the next generation of consoles.
Here are four things you need to take console gaming to the next level:
An Ultra HD Monitor
One of the standout features of every new generation is an improvement in graphics so you need to be able to see all the fine details on an excellent TV or monitor.
Since both next-gen consoles output native 4K, an ultra HD display is probably the best option to go for right now.

This means you can play games in 4K, a resolution up to four times that of standard HD, taking in all the glorious visuals.
8k TVs do exist, though they’re rare and in a recent interview, Xbox boss Phil Spencer stated that he thinks we are years away from 8K being standard.
Also, 8K TVs are extremely expensive so if you’re buying a new console, you probably don’t want to splash the cash on an expensive TV as well.
A Gaming Headset
Headsets are essential for all gamers!
You need a high-quality set that will play the audio straight into your ears, offers a more immersive experience and helps with online gaming.

Plus, it will keep your partner or family from going insane hearing gunshots, explosions and Victory Royale dances all day.
With online gaming in mind, you need a headset with a built-in microphone to talk to your friends on party chat.

Sites like techradar.com always have lists where they review the best gaming headsets currently available so it’s worth checking them out to make the right purchase.
Gaming Glasses
Gaming glasses aren’t a common accessory but even if your eyesight is perfect, you will benefit from some gaming glasses.
Basically, as you’ll see on sites like eyeglasses.com, you can buy lenses for something called computer vision syndrome.

This is a condition where your eyes feel really strained after looking at screens for too long.
Obviously, as a gamer, this is a problem you could face every day and you can improve the gaming experience by getting some gaming glasses with these lenses.
Wear them from time to time to stop eye strain and game for longer with fewer issues!
A Gaming Chair
Now, the perfect gaming chair can be different depending on what you’re after.
If you play at a desk, you will obviously need more of a desk chair but some gamers prefer a lower profile rocker.

Most gaming chairs look like race car seats, and they’re fully adjustable to suit your needs.
If you’re getting older like me, then a decent adjustable gaming chair is literally a game-changer.
Alternatively, you can get a rocker or a beanbag gaming chair both of which are perfect if you like to sit on the floor and look up at your monitor on the wall or a TV stand.
The choice is yours, but look at the different options to consider which one will work best for you.
These four things will take your console gaming experience to new levels.
Regardless of whether you’re a professional streamer or a casual gamer, adding these things to your setup will work wonders.
It’s the perfect way to get ready for the new gaming generation.

Many thought that his youth (and adulthood) playing video games was a waste of time but here he is writing about them for a living.
Michael has a background in IT and enjoys (apart from video games) building and repairing PC’s, digital artwork (Photoshop, 3DS Max) and has interests in too many subjects to mention.
Hey, Michael. Hope you’re doing well.
I’ve been following you for quite some time now (I sound like a stalker :D) and your recommendations/ suggestions never seem to disappoint.
I’ve wanted to get myself a beanbag gaming chair for months, and I finally think that the time has come. My current chair is messed up ( had it for 11 years + I’m a gamer at heart) and I might end up playing video games from my floor if I don’t get myself one ASAP.
Thanks for the post, bud! I had a blast reading it!
PS: Any game you can recommend for me to play while in quarantine? ( A PS4 one please! )
Hi Gorjan.
Gaming chairs certainly get the brunt of it, lol.
I have the Brazen Phantom Elite gaming chair which is an excellent mid-range one at £200, and it serving me quite well. It has actually sorted my back pain.
As for a game to recommend, Marvel’s Avengers is coming along nicely. The terrible bugs are gone, there has been some new content added and in-game item prices have been permanently reduced. I recommend this because while it’s easy to play, it’s hard to master and takes time to level up characters.

Don’t forget that Watch Dogs: Legion has also just come out and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is just a few days away.
Have fun,

A gaming setup is incomplete without VPN, I am thinking of getting one. My friend just suggested me PureVPN since they are offering 88% discount.
Hi Emily.
I use NordVPN myself as it’s very easy to use.
Be aware though that using a VPN wrong can slow down your connection.
