The release date for the long awaited title from CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 has finally been revealed by a surprise guest at this year’s Xbox E3 exhibit.

In an extremely welcome surprise, a living Hollywood legend took to the stage to reveal the release date of long developed Cyberpunk 2077.

At the Xbox event, a new trailer dropped for Cyberpunk 2077 and low and behold Keanu Reeves was in the game, something which had been kept very secret.

Reeves’ character is revealed at the very end of what I can honestly say is one of the greatest pieces of game footage I have ever seen.

Then, after the amazing trailer, Mr. Reeves surprised fans by entering the stage to confirm his involvement in the game and reveal the release date.

Reeves explained that he was approached a long time ago by CD Projekt Red to work on the title and that he was intrigued by the story.

Keanu went on to explain how walking around the detailed city of Cyberpunk 2077 is breathtaking, upon which a crowd member exclaimed that Reeves himself is breathtaking.

Mr. Reeves responded by saying the crowd is breathtaking. A testament to his well known appreciation of fans and great sense of humor.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for well over six years now and has been delayed numerous times with CD Projekt Red, the game’s developer always being a little cagey about the release date.

A couple of weeks ago they teased a release date on Twitter, only to go on to state that it will be released when it’s finished.

The long release date does have some fans and critics a little put off by the game however in today’s paradigm of releasing unfinished games, I would rather wait for quality than have mediocrity thrust upon me.

From the Blade Runner style first frame, to the Johnny Mnemonic and Strange Days type meetup in a sleazy motel, right through to the intriguing Keanu Reeves entrance at the end.

I think we can say with conviction that if this game is even half as good as it looks right now, it may be one of the best ever made.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now scheduled with a definite release date of 16 April 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
