Days Gone Goes Straight to Number One
Sony Bend’s new zombie epic Days Gone has rocketed straight to the number one slot of the PlayStation 4 game charts.
The long awaited and highly anticipated open world action game has beaten Mortal Kombat 11 which was released on the same day.
Days Gone is also the third biggest PS4 exclusive launch title behind God of War and Marvel’s Spiderman both of which launched last year and are also Sony published games.
The release of Days Gone and Mortal Kombat 11 has seen game charts Titan, FIFA 19 get pushed down a place and knocked last week’s number one, World War Z off of the top spot.
Days Gone has been in development for a long time, with full production beginning in 2015.
The game is an open world action story, blended with typical survival horror elements similar to Resident Evil.
Set in the Pacific North West of the United States, the story sees the player take control of an outlaw protagonist named Deacon St. John.
Deacon must make efforts to survive two years after a zombie plague wiped out most of humanity, turning them in to nocturnal, undead cannibals.
Days Gone has been given mediocre scores across the board from sites such as IGN, Gamespot and Game Informer, citing repetitive activities, a lack of character development and some serious bugs as the reason for lower scores.
However, some sites have reported an excellent story line, great visual and audio elements and satisfying combat as good reasons to play this game.
Days Gone is out now exclusively for PlayStation 4.
Mortal Kombat 11 Patch Adds Free Currency
A large patch has been released today for Mortal Kombat 11 on PlayStation 4.
The latest installment in the hugely popular fighting game from Nether Realm Studios was released earlier this week and has gone to the top spot of the Xbox One game charts and to number two of PS4 game charts, losing out to Days Gone.
The patch addresses various issues overall, including multiple game stability bugs and adjustments to Tower of Time mode.
According to the official patch notes, some of the main issues include:
- Connectivity related fixes
- Move list and frame data fixes
- Online matchmaking fixes
- AI adjustments
- Crash related issues
- Increased Koin rewards for Ranked Matches
- Better rewards in The Krypt
Tower of Time Adjustments include the following:
- Adjusted AI
- Opponent health tweaks at higher level Towers
- Daily Tower modifier adjustments
- Increased Koin rewards
- Difficulty adjustments
- Decreased Konsumable cool downs
Mortal Kombat 11 has been released to very high review scores across the board including 9 out of 10 from IGN.
Like Mortal Kombat X, the game includes an indulgent story line that allows you to take control of multiple characters including Mortal Kombat legends Kung Lao and Raiden and Jax.
Shang Tsung requires a separate purchase and Shao Kahn only available as a pre order bonus.
Not very fair to say the least.
The game however does include 24 playable characters with three brand new characters Cetrion, Geras and Kollector.
Along with the patch comes some good news as all Mortal Kombat 11 players will get the following:
- 500,000 Koins
- 500 Hearts
- 1,000 Souls
- 1,000 Time Crystals
This comes as kind of an apology for the initial micro transaction set up of the game, which is now being looked in to by Nether Realm Studios.
The patch is available now for PlayStation 4 with other platforms soon to follow.
New Black Ops 4 DLC Details
Call of Duty’s latest Operation DLC has launched today for PlayStation 4.

Maps include Artifact in Iceland, Masquerade in Bangladesh and WMD from the original Black Ops in Russia.
Also included in the new DLC are weapons, Black Market items, multiplayer game modes and new additions to Zombies.
The DLC is available now for PlayStation 4 with other platforms soon to follow.
