Fortnite Reset Imminent Due to Black Hole Event

By | 14/10/2019

Fortnite gamers have been left bewildered by a Black Hole event that has left the game offline, with some speculating that a Fortnite Reset may be on the way.

The online gaming world has been thrown into chaos over the weekend as the massive online video game Fortnite seems to have all but disappeared.

In a shocking end to Fortnite Season 10, it appears that the game’s asteroid has hit the island and plunged the world into the darkness of a black hole.

When starting the game, players cannot access anything and are presented only with the image of a black hole.

The game’s developer, Epic Games is also keeping quiet on what on Earth is happening in Fortnite at the moment.

The game’s official social media posts have also been removed and Epic Games has not commented at all except for a Tweet stating “The End is Near“.

Not surprisingly, some Fortnite gamers are furious as they are known for how much they love to play the game.

Something that may be of concern however, is that a Tweet stating that Fortnite players’ in-game purchases will be safe has also been removed.

Fortnite Twitter Delete

That is pretty scary as some gamers have spent a lot of time and indeed money for their awesome in-game items, so the loss of these would be catastrophic.

I would be extremely surprised if this was the case however, and that particular Tweet has probably been removed as part of the current publicity stunt.

Also unsurprisingly, the world wide web has lit up with rumors about what may be happening with some even suggesting the Elon Musk has deleted the game following a fake news joke last year that he had bought the game so he could do just that.

The most probable cause for this blackout event however, is that Epic Games has something massive planned.

There is no way they would take the game down for a long period of time without a good reason since Fortnite generates hundreds of millions of dollars for the developer each month.

So, even taking Fortnite down for just one day could potentially cost Epic Games almost $10 million.

Given that Season 10 has just ended with a spectacular destruction event, it is likely that there will be a new implementation of the game with a reset and an overhaul, rather than a Season 11.

There have been rumors for a while that Epic Games is working on a new map and is set to bring some new features to the game, however, what exactly these would be remains a mystery.

Since it’s release by Epic Games in 2017, Fortnite has become one of the biggest games of all time with an active player base in the hundreds of millions.

Such success has granted the game a large amount of fame, being one of only a handful of games that are widely known and referenced by non-gamers.

However, the game is not without its controversy, most notably concerning the game’s Victory Dances.

Epic Games has been sued by entertainers claiming they have stolen what they claim to be copyrighted materials, most famously Alfonzo Ribiero’s “Carlton Dance” from 90s comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Many concerned parents and activists alike have also criticized Epic Games stating that Fortnite is too addictive and causing children to play for too long.

However, why you would blame a game developer for something over which they have no control, and you do, is beyond me.

The good news at the moment though is that the game isn’t as dead as you might think as there is a Konami Code easter egg hidden in the black hole screen.

Fortnite Konami Code

A Konami Code is a series of input received by a game in order to unlock something – named a Konami Code because of its use in Konami games and it’s always the same.

At the black hole, if you input the following series you will load a mini-game:

Up, up , down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start

The mini-game is an old school, arcade-style space game of Pizza Pitt and Durr Burger from Fortnite.

Whether this is significant to what is happening remains unknown but I would guess not and is probably just a Fortnite easter egg.

The Konami Code was created by a developer for the NES game Gradius, whereby entering the code at the game’s Main Menu would grant 30 extra lives to the player.

Since then it has become something of a cultural icon and has been widely referenced amongst gaming and coding enthusiasts.

Other sites featuring a Konami Code include Google’s new Stadia website, Reddit’s FrontPage and

The inclusion of a mini-game is great news however because it affirms that the game isn’t completely dead.

The Konami Code mini-game appears to have been placed deliberately as a place holder while whatever it is that Epic Games is working on is being finalized for release.

The developer is probably putting the finishing touches to the new version of Fortnite, whatever that may be, and getting it ready for server upload.

Fortnite is currently unplayable however as soon as I know what is happening, I will of course let you know.

I was at a state of shock when it happened! I didn’t know hwo to make heads or tails of what happened, and honestly, I still don’t! Although, I love what Elon Musk had to say about it lol.

I was surprised at how the game was down for 2 days.

I thought they would have installed Chapter 2 overnight. At least it’s not gone and it’s probably going to be stronger now as Chapter 2 looks like a great improvement.

      Thanks for commenting Jessie.
