It’s that time of the week we all look forward to in Grand Theft Auto Online, the massively popular online component of the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto V, and that is the GTA Online weekly update.
This week sees more content as addition from the Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series DLC released two weeks ago; a new assault race mode, a new weaponised 6×6 off-road vehicle, the usual discounts, bonus GTA Online cash and RP and more.
Earn double GTA Online cash and RP in the new Target Assault races which come as part of the Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series and pits teams against each other in the new weaponised 6×6 off-roader the Vapid Caracara and other weaponised vehicles. Test your driving and shooting skills as one player drives and another mounts the 50. cal machine gun.
The Gunner is responsible for destroying targets from a mounted gun, while the Driver races to outmanoeuvre the opposition for additional points on each lap. After each lap the Gunner and the Driver switch roles, and whichever team finishes with the most points wins.
Finishing laps in the top three and passing through Checkpoints ahead of your opponents will earn you bonus points, but accuracy is the name of the game here. You’ll score more points for smaller targets, and even more for hitting them dead center.
The new Target Assault Races sounds like absolute mayhem and promises to be great fun.
Here’s a look at this week’s new vehicle, the Vapid Caracara:
This is a beast of a machine. Sporting a 6×6 drive train and a 50. cal machine gun on the back, this is the ultimate ride for defending your Paleto Bay meth lab, evading the cops up Mount Chiliad or just menacing the residents Southern Los Santos. The Vapid Caracara is available from Warstock Cash and Carry today, so take advantage of the bonus GTA Online cash and RP offers to get your hands on one.
There are no game mode bonuses this week. I would suggest that this is because there are brand new game modes arriving in the coming weeks and Rockstar Games probably wants us to use the new racing modes to earn GTA Online cash and RP.
This week’s discounts are centred around weaponised vehicles and weaponised vehicles upgrades. Rockstar’s twisted little mind wants us to seemingly gear up for war as players are going to be purchasing the Vapid Caracara and causing chaos. We will need to defend ourselves. If you want to take the war to the next level then use your hard earned GTA Online cash and take advantage of this week’s main offer which is a discount on the Mammoth Avenger, a flying fortress from which to direct your war.

There’s good news for racers this week because this week’s GTA Online premium race will be rewarding GTA Online cash for the final three and triple GTA Online RP regardless of your final position in the race.
- Race: Lift Off
- GTA Online Cash: rewarded for positions 1, 2 and 3
- GTA Online RP: Triple for everyone
This week’s GTA Online time trail will be rewarding GTA Online cash and GTA Online RP for beating the par time set for the race.
- Race: Observatory
- GTA Online Cash: rewarded for beating par time
- GTA Online RP: rewarded for beating par time
See You Next Wednesday…
This week’s bonuses and discounts may seem a little underwhelming, however GTA Online cash and RP bonuses have been very generous over the last few weeks, giving players time and opportunity to make money in order to afford some of the new items in this week’s GTA Online DLC update.
The new vehicles coming as part of the drip feed will probably tie-into the latest racing DLC so expect more high-end sports cars and some weaponised vehicles so get earning that GTA Online cash and try not to purchase and existing DLC as there may be discounts on them in the coming weeks.
The coming weeks will see the usual new vehicles and game modes so get racing and earning as the best is probably yet to come.
Thanks for reading and have fun in GTA Online.
