It’s that time of the week we all look forward to in Grand Theft Auto Online, the massively popular online component of the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto V, and that is the GTA Online weekly update.
This week we see a brand new DLC: Southern San Andreas Super Sports Series.
A racing based DLC with new racing vehicles including the return of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City’s DeClasse Hotring Sabre.
Here’s what Rockstar Games has to say:
“For players who want to take their competition off the race track and into more combative territory, get ready for two new Adversary Modes, along with rotating double cash opportunities and discounts around some of our favorite modes, work, vehicles and more. And throughout the weeks and months ahead, look for new offerings from Pegassi, Overflod, Lampadati and more as a host of new vehicles hit the showrooms of Los Santos. We’re also adding a heap of new tools and updates for the Creator coming later this Spring, including more weather options, custom team names and Warp Checkpoints for Transform Races, as well as a number of other highly-requested features.”
Note:Players have been wanting an exclusive racing DLC for a long time now and while the new additions are welcome, I feel that they have come up short with this new GTA Online DLC, since the racing seems to be centered around the insane stunt races rather than traditional racing circuits, although there are new circuits made exclusively for the DeClasse Hotring Sabre.
That being said, the new GTA Online vehicles seem pretty good, with a wide mix between supercars and race cars, and as stated by Rockstar Games, there will be more to come on the drip feed as usual.
Here’s a quick view of the new vehicles:
Cheval Taipan: a raw speed supercar not for the feint-hearted.
DeClasse Hotring Sabre: a returning favourite from the 1980s, the All-American Hotring Sabre, burn some rubber in the new GTA Online stock car racing game modes made especially for the Hotring Sabre.
Overflod Entity XXR: Legendary Motorsport adds another insanely fast hyper-car to it’s selection. For maniacs only!
Vapid GB200: the car that changed rally forever, the highly customisable Vapid GB200 is available now.
Vulcar Fagaloa: the decked out beach-dude station wagon is now available and ready to be customised.
There are no game mode bonuses this week. I would suggest that this is because there are brand new game modes arriving in the coming weeks and Rockstar Games probably wants us to use the new racing modes to earn GTA Online cash and RP.
Not surprisingly this week’s GTA Online discounts are vehicle based, with generous discounts on vehicle based properties and vehicle upgrades. Now would be a good time to take advantage of the car tuning discounts if you purchase one of the new racing cars or if you want to breathe some new life in to an old favourite.

See You Next Wednesday…
This week’s bonuses and discounts may seem a little underwhelming, however GTA Online cash and RP bonuses have been very generous over the last few weeks, giving players time and opportunity to make money in order to afford some of the new items in this week’s GTA Online DLC update.
The coming weeks will see the usual new vehicles and game modes so get racing and earning as the best is probably yet to come.
Thanks for reading and have fun in GTA Online.
