The latest GTA Online: Los Santos Summer Special update adds more options to core gameplay as well as the usual new vehicles, clothing and more.

Additions to GTA Online are always welcome and this update has been a long wait.

The last update was the Diamond Casino heists which was released last December.

As welcome as this update might be, it should be noted that this isn’t an expansion such as The Doomsday Heist or After Hours.

Rather, this is the smaller update usually seen in the Spring, but due to Coronavirus was delayed with the larger expansion expected later in the year.

These smaller seasonal updates usually add more game modes to existing components and timed release vehicles.

The brunt of the update has added new Business Battles and missions that can be launched from the Galaxy Super Yacht.

Business Battles are open missions that trigger randomly that anyone can take part in.

They’re usually quite fun and can reward some good amounts of cash.

One new Business Battle takes place on the infamous Aircraft Carrier and they are rewarding more money than usual.

One of six new Galaxy Super Yacht missions can be launched by speaking to contact Brendan Darcy and are awarding double money until next week.

Be aware though that the Galaxy Super Yacht costs around $6 million and there is currently no discount applied to it.

FYI – GTA Online Diamond Casino and Resort Open NOW!

A new Diamond Adversary series has also been added and provides classic Adversary modes set inside the Diamond Casino and Resort.

New vehicles added include some expensive supercars, classic muscle cars and very welcome new open-wheel vehicles.

Supercars include the Lampadati Tigon and the Invetero Coquette D10.

New muscle cars include the Vapid Peyote Custom and the Bravado Gauntlet Classic Custom, both of which can be customized as Benny’s Original Autoworks.

New open-wheel races have also been added as well as an open-wheel race creator.

Open-wheel vehicles are GTA Online’s take on Formula 1 cars, however, they aren’t nearly as fast as they should be.

As well as new vehicles there are also some new vehicle components including wheels and tire designs.

Other interesting components have been added to the game including new collectibles, game improvements and bug fixes.

Thank you so much for this update, Michael! I have been a fan of the entire Grand Theft Auto series since the original Grand Theft Auto-Vice City. I love that, after all of these years, they’re still finding ways to improve the game, add more seasonal features, add more characters, add more missions, add more vehicle/weapon options, and add more lucrative cash prizes. One of the telltale signs of a great gaming series is the creator’s ability to adapt to a changing audience over an extended period of time. I’m definitely looking forward to checking it out! God bless you!

      Thanks for commenting.

It is amazing how R* has kept GTA Online going for so long, even though it is starting to get a little boring now and I have given up on RDO because of the bugs.

That being said, the fan base just keeps growing and with the “Enhanced” PS5 version coming soon, it will only get bigger.

      Cheers,
      Michael.
