The latest Ubisoft title Immortals Fenyx Rising eShop free demo is now available to download for Nintendo Switch.

Ubisoft is known for its historical gaming series Assassin’s Creed and while Immortals might be historical in nature, it’s more fantasy than anything else.

Based on the Greek myths and legends, you play as Fenyx, a demi-God on a quest to save the world from Typhon.

The Gods of Olympus such as Zeus have gifted Fenyx with the power of flight and physical abilities.

These abilities come in handy when battling many of the mythical creatures from Greek stories such as Medusa, Cyclops, and the Minotaur.

Armed with Achilles’ sword and Diadalos’ wings, Fenyx can traverse and battle across a huge open world of seven regions.

Each region is inspired by a different god and has its own distinct style.

Valley of Eternal Spring is inspired by goddess of love Aphrodite and is beautiful and lush.

In contrast, War’s Den inspired by the god of war Ares is desolate and eerie.

Like most open-world games and indeed Assassin’s Creed, this title is full of side quests and stories apart from the main campaign.

FYI – Assassin’s Creed: Origins DLC Coming Soon

There are also powerful secret items to be discovered such as legendary weapons, armor, and even Pegasus.

It’s refreshing to see a new I.P from Ubisoft and a game that isn’t related to Assassin’s Creed.

Fenyx Rising is also one of the first games developed for PS5 and Series X and has been developed to take advantage of more powerful hardware since the world is huge.

That being said, the game runs perfectly fine on last-gen consoles so you need not worry as with Cyberpunk 2077.

Assassin’s Creed seems to be getting a little tired and overdone now and it might be possible that Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is the last release for a while.

However, since the series is so big I wouldn’t bank on it.

Perhaps a reboot for the new generation might be in order though.

Immortals Fenyx Rising has been a surprise hit for Ubisoft and was quite understated by the developer itself.

This is usually a good sign when a new I.P is launched as it is impossible to know how it will be received.

The game has gained generally favorable reviews from established sites such as Gamespot and IGN and has been praised for its story and unique visual style.

The Fenyx Rising release date was December 3 2021 but a free demo is available from the eShop.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is available now for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
