Sony has shown the first images of the PlayStation 5 box art with the first reveal of Spider-Man: Miles Morales from PlayStation Studios.

The boxes for the upcoming PS5 next-gen console are almost exactly the same as that of PlayStation 4.

The difference is that the blue PS4 logo stripe is now white and of course says PS5 along with the iconic PlayStation logo, both of which are now black rather than white.

From the images, it also looks like the boxes will be the same size as well.

The first game to be showcased using the new box design is Sony’s own development Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

It has been confirmed that this is not the sequel to 2018’s hugely successful Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Miles Morales is a filler title set in between Spider-Man and its expected sequel which is currently in development.

Not much is known about the game as of yet, but it has been confirmed that it will be set at Christmas 2018 in Harlem where Miles lives.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is a PS4 exclusive having been produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

What is noticeable about the revealed box is that it sports the new “PlayStation Studios” logo and could be the first game released under the new studio.

PlayStation Studios is the new umbrella publishing house that will replace Sony Interactive Entertainment following the release of PlayStation 5.

Releasing next week, Ghost of Tsushima will be the final Sony Interactive Entertainment development.

Insomniac also appears to have still maintained development credit so that answers the question of whether PlayStation Studios would have been a usurper studio that covers all Sony-owned teams.
