Good news for PlayStation 4 owners as PS4 free to play games get a new addition as Caravan Stories is to be released and Borderlands 2 VR DLC makes its debut.
Great news for PS4 owners this week as in addition to last week’s release of two amazing PS Plus Games, Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders 3, gamers will be able to enjoy two more great free games.
It has recently been announced that highly anticipated free to play RPG Caravan Stories will be made available this week as well as a brand new VR expansion for Borderlands 2.
The free to play PS4 version of Caravan Stories was previously scheduled for release last year but was delayed in order to reportedly “polish” the game further.
Originally released in 2013 in Japan, the game has sold over 100 million copies in the East and has achieved much success.
Now, after almost 6 years of Eastern exclusivity, the game will be making it’s way West as a (for now at least) PS4 only free to play download.
Caravan Stories is presented as a traditional Japanese RPG title but has various key features including a massive game world, numerous in-game races and species, different battle types in either co-op play or PvP and PvE and a unique caravan building system.
Races in the game include the typical Orc, Elf and Human as well as the Squirrel-like Gessy, Dwarves and upcoming Lizardmen.
The numerous battle types available to take part in covers just about every style of play.
Skill battles require accurate timing for success, Raid battles need to be completed with friends against giant bosses and Duel is Caravan Stories’ own take on Tower Defense.
Caravan Stories is set for a PlayStation 4 release on 10th September 2019.
In a stark contrast to Caravan Stories more gentle presentation, Borderlands 2 Bad Ass Mega Fun DLC is available now for PS4 in Borderlands 2’s very own VR game pack.
Probably released to coincide with this week’s release of Borderlands 3, the DLC includes the four Borderlands 2 packs as well as 2 brand new packs made exclusively for VR.
Described as a “Shooter-Looter” Borderlands 2 was originally released in 2012 across multiple platforms including PS3, Xbox 360 and PC having been developed by Gearbox and published by 2K.
Utilizing the Unreal Engine 3, Borderlands is known for its unique visual presentation in a crazy, cel-shaded post-apocalyptic world that has both single-player and multiplayer gameplay.
The VR DLC includes Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt and Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, as well as new content Gaige the Mechromancer and Krieg the Psycho.
In addition, there are 5 brand new Headhunter packs:
- T.K. Baha’s Blood Harvest
- The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler
- How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day
- Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre
- Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax
Gearbox have also confirmed a ton of new cosmetics and skin packs for the game are also available.
The new Borderlands 2 VR pack is available now from PlayStation Store.
Please note however that the new VR content does require that you own Borderlands 2.
