Players will be able to take their Sims to Japan in the latest Sims 4 vacation expansion named “Snowy Escape” set for release in November 2020.
Sims 4 expansion packs are released regularly and each one adds more depth to Sims and fun to the game.
The last Sims 4 expansion, Eco Lifestyle, for example, added neighborhood voting and a complex environmental dynamic.
Sims 4 also introduced Game Packs that are like mini-expansions which provide some new items and a little more gameplay, although not as in-depth as a full expansion.
The last Sims 4 Game pack allowed Sims to live out their Star Wars fantasies in Journey to Batuu which included famous characters, droids and lightsabers.
In the upcoming Sims 4 expansion, Sims can finally take a trip to the Far East where they will be able to partake in all kinds of new activities.
Fitness-oriented Sims can climb Mt. Komorebi, go sledding or snowboarding while foodie Sims will be pleased to sample the local cuisine.

Starting on practice courses, Sims can learn the new snowboarding and skiing skills before heading off in a gondola for some mountain sports.

While at Mt. Komorebi, Sims can relax after a hard day’s skiing by heading to the bathhouse, hitting a hiking trail or exploring bamboo forests.
Kotatsu tables will provide powerful group dining interactions in traditional Japanese style.

Build mode will also get an update to include traditional Japanese decor such as Shoji doors, tile roofs and tatami mats.
Finally, platforms will be fully customizable for greater control over your Sims’ homes and perfect for that Japanese touch.
More Japanese items will be included for that perfect Zen garden including koi fountains, rock gardens and Japanese maple trees.

The biggest features of the new Sims 4 expansion though might be the Lifestyles and Sentiments upgrade.
Lifestyles will unlock new personality traits and relationship effects based on your Sims’ actions and habits.

Sentiments are earned through shared experiences either with couples, friends, families or groups and will unlock social interactions between involved Sims.

This is the first expansion for the Sims 4 that takes place in an Eastern setting and also the first proper vacation expansion.
The excellent Sims 3: World Adventures allowed us to take Sims to China in 2009 and included activities such as archaeological digs, traditional food and martial arts.
Japanese martial arts would be amazing if included in this expansion but as of yet, that hasn’t been mentioned.

A Sims 4 vacation pack is certainly welcome by me, and the fact that it is in Japan is the icing on the cake.
All I can say about the Japanese theme is, “It’s about time“.
The Sims 4: Snowy Escape release date is set for November 13 2020 for PC, Mac, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Cool Cool Cool. Sims where always one of my favourite PC games and I’m thrilled to see this new expansion pack coming out. I look like the guys from EA have done another good job with the latest update of the game. It’s funny how much Sims 4 has evolved over the last decade and more. From a simple game where you could build a house and pretend that you’re living in it, to a real virtual world where you can take vacations to Japan! Thanks for sharing this news and keep up the good work!
Japan is a great fit into the Sims given all the fun things the Japanese like to do.
New food is always great in the Sims and I’m looking forward to seeing all the great recipes.
Thanks,
Michael.
HI Michael,
Oh wow. This looks super fun! I recall playing this a (really) long while back and Sims 4 sounds like it won’t disappoint.
It’s coming out this November and it couldn’t be any more perfectly timed. Even if we’re all still stuck at home, at least our Sims are enjoying themselves in Japan. Hahaha
Thanks for sharing this!
Cheers.
SAM
Hi Sam.
Given that we are all stuck at home, playing Sims is a great way to pass time; I have lost entire weeks when a new expansion has been released in the past.
Thanks,
Michael.
