As part of this years DC Fandome, a new installment in the Batman series, a Gotham Knights game has finally been announced in a co-op style game with Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin and Red Hood.

For months now, Warner Brothers Montreal has been teasing fans with tiny tidbits of information about the next Batman game.

In a stunning and action-packed trailer, Gotham Knights has been shown to the public for the first time.

From the trailer, the story appears to pick up immediately after the conclusion of Batman: Arkham Knight.

In a world without Batman, Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin and Red Hood team up as a heroic band of vigilantes in order to keep Gotham safe.

The action looks just as good as what we have come to expect in an Arkham series game and in some cases even better.

Not much is known about the story as of yet, but The Court of Owls is confirmed as making an appearance.

This isn’t unexpected, however, as WB Montreal have been sending some cryptic, and not so cryptic clues about the Court being in the next game.

However, the game’s developers have also confirmed that “the mystery in Gotham Knights is way bigger than just The Court of Owls“.

In an epic piece of gameplay, Mr. Freeze is shown to be one of the probably many villains in the game.

It appears that Barbara Gordon has regained her ability to walk and is no longer Oracle, rather she is Batgirl once more.

Jason Todd appears to be reprising his role as Red Hood after his failed attempt to take over Gotham as the Arkham Knight.

Dick Grayson as Nightwing also makes a return from Bludhaven to help out while Tim Drake continues on as the current Robin.

Taking a grand departure from the traditional style of the original Arkham games, it is confirmed that Gotham Knights is a co-op based game.

Whether the game is playable solo is unknown and the developers are still being a little tight-lipped about the details despite showing off the game.

The Gotham Knights release date is set for 2021 however it is unknown if it will be next-gen only.

How exciting! Do you know the game Injustice 2 by any chance? I always tend to play with Batman or Robin. Injustice 2 is certainly up there among one of my favourite games, as you can find most of the superheroes and super villains there to battle it out.

      Hi.

Of course I know Injustice 2.

The roster of heroes and villains is amazing. I main Supergirl and Batman but I haven’t played much with other characters.

I have the most well-known characters above Level 10 but Supergirl and Batman are at 30.

      Cheers,
      Michael.

Nice review on The Gotham Knights Game Michael, I know there is only so much revealed and everyone is so excited to hear more about this new game. It appears like it will be well worth the wait, I just hope they don’t disappoint. Perhaps we will get a little more info when it gets closer to Christmas.

      Hi Rick.

Just for the record, this isn’t a review, it’s a preview, but I will be sure to have a review when the game releases next year.

Going by the excellent gameplay (https://youtu.be/-_5h4vZ8Vaw) it will be worth the wait.

The co-op aspect is intriguing and I hope the game will be different depending on who you play.

To be honest, I am looking more forward to this than I am Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad game, only because I feel that not playing as the superhero is a waste of time. I just don’t get why we can’t have a Superman game!

      Thanks for commenting, Rick.

      Cheers,
      Michael.

Hi Michael, I really enjoyed your post. My son is bang into computer games at present and is obsessed with the latest Spider-Man game on his PS4. Is the latest batman game suitable for children? He’s 8. If so I will certainly look at purchasing it.

    Cheers

      Hi Russ.

The latest Batman game is Batman: Arkham Knight and is available pretty cheap these days (https://www.cdkeys.com/?mw_aref=chartxgames_cdkeys&q=arkham%20knight).

While it is a 15 rated game, there isn’t any blood and guts, sex or swearing, but it is quite dark and obviously violent, but Batman violent.

To be honest, I wouldn’t have an issue giving it to my child but this is a personal preference.

I realize that you may be referring to Gotham Knights. This isn’t technically a Batman game, but it set after Arkham Knight. It isn’t out yet and is set for release sometime next year.

      Thanks,
      Michael.

Great information about this game Mike, I am sure Arkham Knight will be a best seller game. Although they do not reveal yet everything about it, of course by seeing the trailer video you have shared, I can see already this game is packed with lots of action and fun in a sort of open world.

    Thanks for sharing!

      Hi Pablo.

This looks set to be an amazing game and it has been confirmed that it can be played solo and doing so will not impact anything in the game.

      Cheers,
      Michael.

    Michael,

This game looks like something my husband would love to play. He definitely likes games, unlike me who usually just reads. He’s bought quite a few of the DC games in the past, and I do like that they have stories to them versus just walking around and shooting things.

This one looks like it will be fun to watch him play. Thanks for sharing this information!

D.C games definitely have great stories and this is no exception.

A mistake I made was assuming that this is an Arkham Knight sequel; it is not.

It is rather its own story, perhaps another Earth so its wide open as to what they can do with it.

      Thanks for commenting, Katrina.

      Cheers,
      Michael.
