What does the Eye of the Beholster do in Enter The Gungeon?
The Eye of the Beholster is a B-rank semiautomatic gun that fires high-speed lasers that deal 6 damage.
While that might seem like a low number for a B-rank gun, the trick up the Eye of the Beholster’s sleeve is its ability to spawn a friendly Beadie that will fight alongside you in the Gungeon after clearing every magazine.
The Eye of the Beholster will only deal 6 damage per laser beam but it hits fast and is very easy to aim and land on almost any enemy in the Gungeon. In addition, the Beadie it summons deals 6 damage per shot as well, and the Beadie will have piercing effects.
Is the Eye of the Beholster a good gun in Enter The Gungeon?
The Eye of the Beholster is a good gun in Enter the Gungeon that can spawn multiple Beadies that will fight alongside you.
This is especially great for boss fights since having multiple Beadies that fire bullets can help make quick work of high-HP enemies such as bosses.
The raw damage output of the Eye of the Beholster is mediocre at best, but the Beadies more than makeup for the gun’s damage deficit.
Best Synergy for the Eye of the Beholster in Enter The Gungeon
The Eye of the Beholster only has one Synergy in Enter the Gungeon – Behold!
Behold!
If you have the Com4nd0, M1911, Void Marshall, Machine Pistol, and Trank Gun in your inventory, holding or using either one of these guns will give it 30% increased damage, 50% magazine size, 50% spread, 33% reduced reload time, and 20% enemy bullet slow.
However, if the Eye of the Beholster is held, all the guns mentioned above will orbit around you and automatically shoot at nearby enemies. To activate this Synergy, you must go to the Beholster shrine and offer all six guns.
How to Use the Eye of the Beholster in Enter The Gungeon?
On its own, the Eye of the Beholster is very easy to use because it fires high-speed lasers instead of bullet projectiles. This makes aiming easier as your shots land almost instantly on your targets, forgoing the timing and aim required to land shots from across the room with other more traditional guns in the Gungeon.
You won’t have to do anything special to spawn the Beadies as well, simply shoot until you’ve depleted your current magazine and a Beadie will automatically spawn and fight alongside you in the current room.
Conclusion
The Eye of the Beholster has mediocre damage values for a B-rank gun. However, it draws most of its damage output not from the low-damage lasers it shoots, but from the multiple Beadies that spawn after depleting multiple magazines.
If you manage to acquire all the guns required for the Behold! Synergy in-game, you can turn into the Eye of the Beholster (boss) himself and have all five guns orbit around you while you shoot with the Eye of the Beholster (gun).
