The Box is an A-rank active item that you can use to hide from all enemies and even the shop keeper in Enter the Gungeon.
The Box is mostly a defensive item that’s used to avoid enemy encounters and bosses in Enter the Gungeon. Players can purchase the Box from the Ox and Cadence for 8 Hegemony Credits.
Is the Box a good item in Enter The Gungeon?

Best Synergy for the Box in Enter The Gungeon
The Box features five unique Synergies with other weapons and items in Enter the Gungeon – Apiary, Flat Stanley, I need scissors! 61!, Pretty Good, and What a Thrill.
Apiary
The Apiary Synergy will activate if you have the Bee Hive and the Box in your inventory in Enter the Gungeon.
The Apiary Synergy will cause the Bee Hive to become, well, an apiary, and give it the ability to regenerate ammo over time.
Flat Stanley
If you have the Mailbox and the Box in your inventory in-game, a Synergy called the Flat Stanley will become active.
Flat Stanley will reduce the Mailbox’s clip size by 50% but improve its reload time by 33%.
I need scissors! 61!
With the Trank Gun and the Box in your inventory, the I need scissors! 61! Synergy will become active in Enter the Gungeon.
The I need scissors! 61! Synergy will cause the Trank Gun to change its appearance, decrease its fire rate, and increase its reload time. However, the Trank gun will gain bullets that deal additional damage and inflict slow and stun effects to enemies in the Gungeon as a neat tradeoff.
Pretty Good
If you happen to have the SAA and the Box in your inventory, the Pretty Good Synergy between the two items will give you an additional 2 Coolness in-game.
2 Coolness translates to 10% improved active item cooldown and 5% educed chance for chests to have a fuse.
What a Thrill
The What a Thrill Synergy between the S-rank Patriot and the Box will cause the former to gain the ability to transform enemies into snakes.
How to Use the Box in Enter The Gungeon?
You can use the Box in one of two ways in Enter the Gungeon. You can activate the Box and hide underneath it to conceal yourself from enemies or keep the Box in your inventory and make use of any of its Synergies.
If you go for the former effect, the Box will conceal you from all enemies, bosses, and the shop keeper in-game. However, any action other than moving or reloading will remove the Box and expose you to enemies once again. On the other hand, firing from under the Box will give your shot double-damage but reveal yourself to enemies right after.
In addition, if you opt to use the Box for its active capabilities, make sure to use it when enemies have not seen your or are not actively targeting you yet, since it is not possible to use the Box when enemies have already spotted and targeted you in the Gungeon.
Lastly, because the Box hides you from the shopkeeper as well, you can use it to steal from shops. Just make sure you activate the Box before entering the shop.
