What does the Escape Rope do in Enter The Gungeon?
The Escape Rope is a D-rank active item that lets you instantly teleport to the nearest shop on your current floor in Enter the Gungeon. This item is a reference to the Escape Rope found in the Pokemon series that lets players teleport to the nearest Pokemon Center or cave entrance.
In Enter the Gungeon, using the Escape Rope on a floor with no shop will cause you to be teleported to the first room of the floor instead. However, you cannot use the Escape Rope if you’re in the Resourceful Rat’s Lair or reset a boss fight to get a Master Round.
Is the Escape Rope a good item in Enter The Gungeon?
The Escape Rope is an okay item in Enter the Gungeon. It allows you to escape to the nearest shop (assuming the floor you’re currently on has one) and purchase necessary pickups such as hearts when you’re in a pinch.
The Escape Rope can also be used to access blocked-off or undiscovered shops around the Gungeon, and it can also be used to teleport you to the shop in the Forge and most NPC-run shops around the Gungeon.
Best Synergy for the Escape Rope in Enter The Gungeon
The Escape Rope shares two Synergies with two other guns in Enter the Gungeon – All Out of Law and Hydro Pump.
All Out of Law
All Out of Law is a Synergy between the Colt 1851 and the Escape Rope in Enter the Gungeon.
All Out of Law will cause the Cold 1851 to shoot three sets of three tightly-spaced bullets upon reloading. The reload effect can be used to reveal secret rooms in shops without alerting the shopkeeper.
Hydro Pump
If you have the Escape Rope and the Mega Douser in your inventory, the Hydro Pump Synergy between these two items will become active.
Hydro Pump will give the Mega Douser 50% more damage, increase its shot speed and knockback by 3x, and increase the Mega Douser’s stream size.
How to Use the Escape Rope in Enter The Gungeon?
You can use the Escape Rope anytime around the Gungeon. Doing so will automatically teleport you to the nearest shop on the current floor. If you use the Escape Rope on a floor without a shop, you will instead be teleported to the first room of the current floor.
In addition, you can use the Escape Rope to:
- Access blocked-off shops.
- Access undiscovered shops.
- Teleport to an NPC-run shop.
However, the Escape Rope cannot be used in the Resourceful Rat’s Lair or to reset a boss fight to get a Master Round after taking damage.
