Enter the Gungeon – Glitch Chest

What is a Glitched Chest in Enter the Gungeon?

A Glitched Chest is a type of special chest that you can find randomly in Enter the Gungeon.

Opening a Glitched Chest will take you to a glitched version of the Gungeon’s next floor, but there is a catch – the Glitched Floor will have nothing but two Beholsters waiting for you.

Beating both Beholsters will give you the usual boss rewards along with a random assortment of seven guns and items that you can pick up and keep in your inventory. Numerous pickups such as hearts, ammo, and Hegemony Credits can drop as well.

Unfortunately, Glitched Chests have a low spawn rate, and you need to complete a few objectives before Glitched Chests can start appearing around the Gungeon.

How to unlock Glitched Chest in Enter the Gungeon?

To unlock the Glitched Chest in Enter the Gungeon you have to beat the Beholster at least once and have entered the Gungeon more than ten times in your current save file.

After completing both objectives, there will be a 0.1% chance of encountering a Glitched Chest on the following floors in the Gungeon:

  • Keep of the Lead Lord (1st Chamber/Floor)
  • Gungeon Proper (2nd Chamber/Floor)
  • Black Powder Mine (3rd Chamber/Floor)

Opening the Glitched Chest will take you to a Glitched room where two Beholsters await. Beat them to collect boss rewards and a random assortment of seven guns/items.

Despite Glitch Chest’s low spawn rate, it is possible to find more than one Glitched Chest in the same Gungeon run.

What happens if you find a Glitched Chest and beat the boss?

Opening the Glitched Chest will automatically transport you to a Glitched version of the next floor. After beating the double Beholsters in the Glitched floor, you will be rewarded with boss rewards and seven random guns/items.

After collecting these items, you can take the elevator and continue on the next floor of the Gungeon. If you manage to beat the Beholsters without taking any damage, you can earn a Master Round from the fight as well.

How rare is a Glitched Chest in Gungeon?

Glitched Chests are a pretty rare find in Enter the Gungeon, with just a 0.1% chance of appearing on a few select floors in the Gungeon – Keep of the Lead Lord, Gungeon Proper, and Black Powder Mine.

Despite this, finding another Glitched Chest in the same run is possible, and beating the double Beholsters will yield the same number of rewards as the first Glitched Chest.

While the Glitched Chest’s spawn rate is a measly 0.1%, the Rainbow Chest is still much rarer, with just a 0.00333% chance of spawning in the Gungeon. Regardless, the Glitched Chest offers just as much loot as the Rainbow Chest and is relatively easier to come by in-game.

Conclusion

There’s a good reason why a Glitched Chest is so hard to come by in Enter the Gungeon – the amount of loot you can get from beating the double Beholsters in the Glitched floor is second to only the Rainbow Chest, which is even rarer than the Glitched Chest.

On top of the 0.1% spawn rate of the Glitched Chest, you need to beat the original Beholster at least once and have entered the Gungeon at least ten times before the Glitched Chest can start spawning on the first, second, or third floor of the Gungeon.

Nevertheless, if you can find a Glitched Chest and beat the double Beholsters in Enter the Gungeon, you will have more guns/items and picks than you know what to do with, which should make your current Gungeon run a breeze.
