What is the Ruffians in the Ground quest?
Ruffians in the Ground is a Level 1 Una’s Task where you must kill 25 Root Borers on the western plains of Azure Wind Island. The Recommended Item Level for this Una’s Task is 802 or above.
Root Borers have run rampant on Azure Wind Island, destroying the roots of plants in the area. Your job is to cull the Root Borers and prevent the destruction of the island’s ecosystem.
How do you start the Ruffians in the Ground quest in Lost Ark?
You can start the Ruffians in the Ground Quest by going to Azure Wind Island and accepting the Ruffians in the Ground Una’s Task within the Una’s Task menu in Lost Ark. Press ALT + J on your keyboard to bring up the Una’s Task menu, then search for the Ruffians in the Ground quest. Click the “Accept” button to start the quest.
It is worth noting, however, that you first need to complete The Mane of the Azure Wind before you can start the Ruffians in the Ground quest. You will need the Wind Wane Mustang/Cloud Steed Mount from that quest to complete the Ruffians in the Ground Una’s Task.
After you start the Ruffians in the Ground Una’s Task, you must use one of two specific Mounts – The Wind Mane Mustang or the Cloud Steed Mount. You will need either Mount to draw the Root Borers from the ground. Mount the Wind Mane Mustang or the Cloud Steed, then use their Q skill to lure out the Root Borers. Once the Root Borers emerge, you can dismount and kill the Ruffians using your attacks and abilities. Kill 25 of these monsters to complete the Ruffians in the Ground Quest.
As with all Una’s Tasks, you can repeat the Ruffians in the Ground quest and get Reputation Points once daily. Return the next day to complete the task again and gain more Reputation Points.
How to Get the Wind Mane Mustang or Cloud Steed?
You can get the Wind Mane Mustang by completing the Returning the Flowers Quest on Azure Wind Island. On the other hand, you can get the Cloud Steed Mount as a reward for completing the quest The Mane of the Azure Wind on Azure Wind Island.
Getting either one of these two horse mounts is important, as you will need either one to complete Una’s Task: “Ruffians in the Ground.” The Wind Mane Mustang or Cloud Steed Mount’s Q skill is the only way to draw out the enemies you need to slay in the Ruffians in the Ground quest. You can only use either Mount while you’re on Azure Wind Island.
Ruffians in the Ground Rewards
Below is a list of rewards you can expect from Ruffians in the Ground Una’s Task in Lost Ark. Some rewards, such as the Harmony Shards, Honor Shards, and Potions, will differ in quantity depending on your character’s Item Level. You will get more rewards the higher your character’s Item Level.
On the other hand, you can only get the 11th Giant’s Heart, Stat Increase Potion, and Emote: Whistle by reaching Reputation 3 in the Ruffians in the Ground Una’s Task.

The Ruffians in the Ground Una’s Task is a straightforward quest where you only need to kill a specific number of monsters on Azure Wind Island. The only hurdle you must overcome to start this quest is the complicated chain of quests required to get the Wind Mane Mount or Cloud Steed Mount. You cannot complete this Una’s Task without these Mounts since you’ll need their Q skill to lure out the monsters on the island.
