What are Skins for?
Skins are cosmetic items you can equip on your character in Lost Ark. Skins let you add hats, masks, upper body clothing, and lower body clothing to your character’s base gear, altering your character’s overall appearance to your preferences.
You can change your character’s appearance significantly through various clothing options such as Headwear, Facewear, Chestpiece, and Pants. Some skins can even change your weapon’s appearance and add minor buffs to some stats and Virtues.
Where to Get Free Skins
Most skins in Lost Ark can only be bought through the in-game Shop or from the Market/Auction House. You won’t find a ton of free skins in the game, as many free-to-play games rely on cosmetics and other microtransactions to make money.
With that said, you should receive some free skins occasionally from the devs through Gifts and Welcome Packages that are sent to your Product Inventory automatically. Check your Product Inventory menu for Chest and Rewards as some of these may contain free skins.
How do you get new outfits in Lost Ark?
There are many ways to get skins and other outfits in Lost Ark. The most common place to get skins is the Cash Shop or in-game Shop.
There are a ton of skins for sale there, many of which are Skin Chests that come with a complete set of skins for your character. Other outfit options in the Cash Shop include feature skin sets with Headwear, Chestpiece, and Weapon skins, as well as standalone weapon skins for many classes in the game.
Aside from the Cash Shop, you can also find some outfits for sale in the Market/Auction House. There are tons of skins for sale in the Market/Auction House, with some skins going for as little as 1 Gold per skin piece. More desirable pieces, such as Chestpiece and Pants, will cost more, so expect to fork over up to thousands of Gold coins for individual skin pieces.
Can you craft skins in Lost Ark?
You cannot craft skins like how you would with gear in Lost Ark – skin “crafting” is done through Yoz’s Jar in a Gatcha-like mechanic.
To craft skins using Yoz’s Jar, you must first purchase a Yoz’s Jar and use the item, which will take you to the skin crafting menu. In the crafting menu, you can pick the class you want to craft a skin for and choose the type of skin you want (weapon, headgear, chestpiece, pants).
Cloth is a requirement for crafting, so purchase some from the Cash Shop first. You can view the skins you can get from crafting on the right-hand side of the menu. The same menu also shows the drop rates for the featured skins.
Conclusion
You won’t find very many free skins in Lost Ark, as most skins are sold through the Cash Shop or the Market/Auction. Your best bet is to keep an eye on your Product Inventory menu and hope the devs feel generous enough to send you a care package that contains free skins in Lost Ark.
