What is Stone of Chaos for?
Stone of Chaos is an upgrade material that you’ll need when upgrading or crafting tier-three Relic gear in Lost Ark. Relic gear is the most powerful gear that you can get in Lost Ark’s endgame, making Stone of Chaos a valuable upgrade material if you want to get the best gear in the game.
You cannot use Stone of Chaos in the early game as you need to reach at least Item Level 1445 to use it but there are multiple ways to get this upgrade material in-game.
How to Get Stone of Chaos in Lost Ark
There are three ways to get Stone of Chaos in Lost Ark: take down World Boss Thunderwings, participate in Legion Raid events, or exchange items from a collector in Nia Village.
World Boss Thunderwings
You can get Stone of Chaos as loot drops by defeating the World Boss Thunderwings. Thunderwings is a Field Boss that only spawns at specific times in South Vern. Check Procyon’s compass for Thunderwings’ spawn times and take him down to get Stone of Chaos.
Legion Raid Events
You can get Stone of Chaos as a reward for completing Legion Raid Events in Lost Ark. There are four Legion Raids you need to keep an eye on if you want to get Stone of Chaos:
- Demon Best Commander Valtan Legion Raid
- Covetous Legion Commander Vykas
- Phantom Legion Commander Brelshaza
- Mayhem Legion Commander Kakul-Saydon
Similar to World Boss Thunderwings, Stone of Chaos is an RNG drop in Legion Raids, which means you might have to come back a later time and defeat these bosses again to collect Stone of Chaos.
Collector Jorba
The most straightforward way of acquiring Stone of Chaos in Lost Ark is through Collector Jorba in Nia Village, Punika. You can trade a Demonic Beast’s Bone for Stone of Chaos or use Gold to purchase the upgrade material. You can only purchase Stone of Chaos up to ten times a week when using Gold.
Is it worth buying Stone of Chaos?
Stone of Chaos is an important item for upgrading your character’s gear to the Relic tier in Lost Ark. Until you make it past Item Level 1445, however, you won’t have to worry about Stone of Chaos, as you cannot use the item before then anyway.
With that said, Stone of Chaos is a necessary item if you’re looking to max out your character’s gear in Lost Ark. Fortunately, there are multiple ways to get Stone of Chaos, such as by defeating World Bosses, completing Legion Raids, or by purchasing them from Collector Jorba in Nia Village in Punika.
Is it better to do Chaos Dungeons solo?
It is better to do Chaos Dungeon solo versus playing the dungeon with a party. Playing solo allows you to group up and clear enemies faster and you won’t have to wait for party members to finish clearing leftover mobs after the portal has appeared on the current floor.
In addition, playing solo will ensure that enemies will have as little base health as possible. Enemy HP in Chaos Dungeons scale with the number of players in the dungeon, and having more players mean enemies will have more HP, which can make the dungeon take longer to complete.
If your character has decent gear, you should be able to complete a Chaos Dungeon in as little as 5 minutes per run.

Stone of Chaos only really starts to matter when you’re looking to max out your character’s gear in Lost Ark. You can only start using this item when you reach at least Item Level 1445, so don’t worry too much about collecting Stone of Chaos in the early game.
