How to Unlock Abyss Raid in Lost Ark

What is an Abyss Raid?

Abyss Raid is endgame PvE content in Lost Ark, where two teams of four players work together to take down a powerful Abyss Raid boss for Gold and other rewards.

Each team has 4 revive chances for each gate. However, even though the revive instances refresh for each new gate, you will likely find yourself using most of these revives, as the Abyss fight will be a relatively long struggle, especially since the powerful Abyss Raid boss’ HP bar is not visible throughout the fight.

There is currently just one Abyss Raid boss in Lost Ark – the rogue Guardian named Argos. The Argos Abyss Raid consists of three phases, with each Phase featuring its own set of boss fight mechanics and rewards. You can take on each Phase individually, as each Phase is its own Abyss Raid; you do not have to complete all three in a single run.

How do you unlock Abyss Raid in Lost Ark?

You can unlock Abyss Raids as soon as you complete the quest: “Abyss Raid Unlocked.” Abyss Raid Unlock is a Guide Quest you can find in your Quest Journal in-game. Press the J button on your keyboard to bring up the Quest Journal, then activate the Abyss Raid Unlocked quest.

Before you can get the Abyss Raid Unlock quest, however, you first need to make sure your character is at least Item Level 1370 and that you have completed the Guardian Raid Qualifications Certificate Guide Quest as well.

How to start an Abyss Raid?

Once you have met the Item Level requirement and completed the Abyss Raid Unlocked quest, you can now participate in Abyss Raids in Lost Ark. Look for the Abyss Raid statue in major cities in the game to access the Abyss Raid menu. From there, all you need to do is queue for the Abyss Raid.

Open the map and look for a blue flag next to the Chaos and Abyssal Dungeons area. Head toward this icon and you should find a tall statue with a subtle teal glow. Interact with the statue to view Abyss Raid details such as Matching options, expected rewards, Limitations, and the featured Abyss Raid Boss.

Can you solo the Abyss Raid in Lost Ark?

Unfortunately, you cannot solo Abyss Raid as it is strictly an 8-player game mode where two parties of four players work together to take down a powerful Abyss Raid boss.

Even if you could solo the Abyss Raid in Lost Ark, you would have almost zero chance of beating the boss solo, as the featured bosses are insanely powerful. The current Abyss Raid in Lost Ark, Argos, features a unique fight mechanic that forces players to work and coordinate to survive and deal consistent damage to Argos. The Abyss Raid mechanics simply do not accommodate solo play by design.

Conclusion

Unlocking the Abyss Raid in Lost Ark only requires you to complete a Guide Quest called Abyss Raid Unlocked. Before you start the quest, however, you first need to make sure you have unlocked Guardian Raids and that your character has at least Item Level 1370.

Once you have met all the prerequisites for unlocking Abyss Raid, press J on your keyboard to bring up the Quest Journal menu, then activate the quest. Complete the quest, and you should be able to participate in Abyss Raids.
