Item Quality is one of many elements found in Weapons, Armor, and Jewelry in Lost Ark. Item Quality dictates the bonuses you can get from two similar items of similar stats, where an item with higher quality will have better stat bonuses.
Weapons will get additional damage proportional to their Quality, while Armor Quality dictates Magical Defense, Physical Defense, and Vitality bonuses. Jewelry Quality affects Crit, Specialization, and Swiftness stats.
The Item Quality you get on items in Lost Ark is completely random, ranging from any number between 1 and 100.
Does Item Quality Matter on Gear Lost Ark?
Item Quality matters in Lost Ark as these stats increase the bonuses you can get from your Gear significantly. Depending on the Item Quality you get in-game, you could be looking at a 1-15% uplift in stats through the differences in Quality alone.
However, Item Quality is not as important in the early game as it is in the endgame, and most Lost Ark veterans recommend focusing on Item stats and engravings rather than sheer Item Quality.
What Quality Should I Aim for in Lost Ark?
The Quality of your items in Lost Ark is completely random and there isn’t a way to improve this in-game. You can, however, run Chaos Dungeons, Abyss Dungeons, and Guardian Raids and hope to get the same item but with better quality.
How To Improve Gear Quality in Lost Ark?
Item or Gear Quality is completely RNG, which means you’re pretty much stuck with whatever Quality of your Weapons, Armor, and Jewelry have in Lost Ark.
However, some players and streamers have found a way to re-roll Items to get an item with higher Quality in Lost Ark.
To do this, you need to go to the Vendor NPC that sells Abyssal Dungeon Gear and purchase the Gear you want. After which, check your inventory for the item’s Quality. If you get less than ideal Quality, you can simply dismantle the item and get the materials back. After getting the materials back, go back to the vendor and repurchase the same item. Rinse and repeat.
You can do this as many times as you like until you get Gear with the Quality rating you’re satisfied with. Just remember that each purchase will cost a bit of Silver.
